Like me, Hudson is not much of an early riser. Prompting him to get up took a lot of work . Since he had a DNE (do not eat) order, we couldn't even use treats to tempt him. Once he was up, he halfheartedly trailed around after me, though he did perk up when we asked if he wanted to go for a ride.
