Two Weeks Ago Today

Today was the first day that the dogs stayed home alone since Hudson's surgery.  They handled it well, though they were ridiculously excited to go outside when I got home.  Hudson's favorite thing during his recovery was laying in the grass in the backyard.  That hasn't changed.

I can hardly believe that two weeks ago today was ampuation day.  Hudson's incision is already greatly improved, as the picture below shows.  He gets around wonderfully, though he tires quickly.  Fifteen minutes of activity requires several hours of rest.  He's gradually building up his endurance.  You can always tell when he's tired, he tries to stand on his no-longer-there-leg and tilts back a little.  That's our sign that it's time for a rest.
